Bramblers new home

As much as I love Leith, if I’m being honest, it’s never really been home for me.

I’ve thought a lot about this recently and for a moment, I almost thought I could see a life for myself here but it’s been clearer by the day that my hearts not really in it. It’s been a brutal realisation though - most of the nicest people I know are in Leith!

When things have been tough over the past few years, I’ve definitely fantasised about packing up my bags, heading out for a very long bike ride and never coming back (or getting a real job, let’s just say it was 50/50). That being said, for all the time I’ve spent thinking about adventures in far flung places, I’ve spend just as much time thinking about riding in the Scottish Highlands.

It was for this same reason that I moved up to Perth seven years ago and spending some more time there over December made me reconsider the future of Bramblers. Well, that, and I got a glimpse into what a real job might look like and I scared myself into making some plans to stay in self-employment…

SO! All being well, I’m set to open Bramblers in Perth in the coming months. I’ve found a great place that has some of my favourite riding straight from the door (you can actually ride off-road the whole way to the Cairngorms from the new shop, if you want to) and I’m hoping to move in before summer.

Meantime, Bramblers will be closing up in Leith over the coming months, everything’s moving pretty fast at the moment but it looks like I’ll probably still be here serving up coffees and bike fitting until sometime in April. I’ll do my best to keep you all in the loop!

As always, thanks for putting up with my shit.

Lots of love,
Innes
